1983, Little Belt Mountains, Wyoming: Hikers Chased by Wild Bigfoot

Becky and William McRoberts had spent the day hiking around the Little Belt Mountains area in Wyoming. They came upon a particularly dense area of the woods. Becky noticed the slight tempeture drop and asked William if they could backtrack out of the area. After looking at his map, William decided that they should keep pressing forward since there was a road less than half a mile away.

About five minutes after this conversation the McRoberts heard some rustling behind them. Then they heard tree knocking, followed by a mournful howl. Becky became quiet alarmed, but William assured her to keep going. Soon enough though the noises seemed to be coming from in front of the couple, instead of behind them.

Becky begged William to stop so they could get a bearing on where the sounds were coming from, but he refused. As they stood arguing about it, a large Bigfoot stepped into view about 20 yards away. The couple described it as over 9 feet tall, orange in color, and with the most yellow eyes possible. It smelled like fish and body odor.

When the Bigfoot waved at them, Becky screamed and ran away. William took a second to figure out what was happening and followed her. For the next twenty minutes or so the Bigfoot chased the couple through the woods. Just when they would stop to catch their breath, the creature would pop up and growl at them. This scared them into running again.

Eventually, the couple got away from the monster. Or more likely the Bigfoot grew bored with its little game. The McRoberts consider themselves very lucky to be alive.

2010, Roxy Ann Peak, Colorado: Man Hears Howls and Knocks

Thomas Colhouse was hiking in Roxy Ann Peak before sunrise.  Colhouse enjoyed the quiet of his pre-dawn hikes.  But on this day, Colhouse was disturbed by a distant howling.

“It was unlike any animal noise I ever heard before,” Colhouse said, “Sounded so mournful and sad.”

Colhouse stopped to listen. He thought someone might be in distress. When the howling continued, it was accompanied by a sharp wood knocking.

“When I head the tree knocking,” Colhouse continued, “I knew it must have been a Bigfoot making those noises. I heard them once before, back when I was younger. That same sad howling followed by the inhuman sound of a powerful blow upon a hollow tree stump.”

Once Colhouse concluded that the howling was some distance away from him, he continued his planned hike without incident.

2011, Marble Mountain, Idaho, Shadow Man Walks Away

Casey Sexton is hiking toward his favorite skiing hill, when he spots something moving through the trees up ahead. Casey shouts for his buddy Trevor Price to look. Trevor is a few yards ahead of Casey. When Trevor confirms that he, too, sees a man moving along the trees, Casey takes out his cell phone and starts recording.

The video captures a very dark figure pushing through the dense woods. Seconds after the shadow man disappears into the woods, a sharp tree knocking can be heard. Both Casey and Trevor are silent until the tree knocking continues, seemingly coming from all directions at once. Completely freaked out that they are surrounded, the two boys high tail it back to their parent’s minivan.

Later, Casey has his sister Miranda help him upload the video of the encounter to You Tube. Miranda corrects Casey’s many spelling errors.
