1991, Trail of Two Forests, Washington: Bigfoot Cave Discovered

Eric Petersen was hiking about on the Trail of Two Forests. He came upon a hole in the ground, slightly off the trail, that he had never seen before. So Petersen stopped to investigate it.

Petersen slowly crawled into the new cave. He could tell that the cave was recently evacuated, because of the loose dirt and smell of fresh earth. The cave was filled with bones and car side mirrors. There was a bed of leaves in the corner. And there was a strong odor of animal body musk.

Petersen was certain that he was in a Bigfoot lair and not a homeless person’s nest. The large footprints and strings of hair that were clinging to the rocks around the bed of leaves were tell tale signs of the creature.

Petersen thought to wait to see if the creature returned to his lair, but as night began to fall, the possibility of being alone in the dark with a sleepy Bigfoot did not appeal to Petersen.
