1875, Selmier Forest Area, Indiana: Bigfoot Terrorizes Family

Reverend Lepton McKinney and his family of 12 were camping on their way from California to New York, where Rev. McKinney was told by God to found his new church.

Over several hours, beginning around midnight, the McKinney family was terrorized by a howling, crying, and violently screaming creature just beyond their campsite. Rev. McKinney certain it was the Devil come to stop his progress across the states, led the family in hours a serious and earnest prayer.

Several of the McKinney children, including the eldest Malachi, claim to have seen a 15 foot creature with the flat face of an ape and the body of a man, jump from tree to tree.

The following morning, members of the McKinney family searched the area and found deep claw marks on the tee trunks and large deep foot prints.

Reverend McKinney would talk of the night that he beat the devil back into his hole with the power of prayer. His children were just tankful that whatever monster was out there, did not eat them all right up.

1962, Hidden Springs Forest, Illinois: Half Man Bigfoot Seen Near Cave

A group of kids were playing near some water in Hidden Springs Forest. One of the children saw something emerge from a cave in the ground. Some of the children reported that it was completely hairless and obviously a female creature. The other half of the children claim that the monster was covered in hair and was a very powerful male. The one thing all the children agreed upon was that it was not a normal person, the creature was more like a big monster or hairless ape.

Clearly, the children saw a shape shifting Bigfoot caught emerging from its underground lair.

While hiking in the woods, Ross Stoller came across three large footprints. The prints circled around a large, tall tree. There were two full foot impressions and one partial. The two full impressions were nearly side by side, like a large biped was standing still. The partial was just the toes of the foot.

Each print was about 1/4 of an inch deep and at least 14 inches long. Stoller marked the tree and tried to convince his friend Mildred Burkehead to come out and take some photos of it, but Burkehead was baking a pie and refused to leave her kitchen.

Stoller was upset, but ate the pie when it was done.

James “Chip” Andersend tells a story about the time he was in Stinkingwater Mountains and he saw something completely unbelievable. That is the only thing his family and friends will agree with him on, that the story is unbelievable, but the fact that Chip hasn’t changed a single fact about the story, makes others he knows, believe that Chip, at least, believes the story he tells, even though, Chip does say it sounds unbelievable.

Chip claims that he saw a Bigfoot fighting several large lynx on a rocky ridge. The scuffle was short and very, very dusty, but Chip was able to tell that while the Bigfoot was outnumbered the creatures massive size and obvious strength worked to its advantage.

Chip heard a lot of growling and yelping and yowling, then saw the lynx pounce off down the ridge, like a kitten racing out of the litter box. The Bigfoot threw some rocks after the fleeing cats, then slowly continued on its way, seemingly unharmed or even scratched.

Hippy shaman Freddy Yakka was on a walkabout in Ottawa Forest. He was rolling his lunchtime joint when he spied out of the corner of his eye, a floating ball of fire. At first, Yakka was convinced it was a spirit ball he had heard about spinning through sacred spot or traditional cemeteries.

But as the flaming ball of fire moved past Yakka’s squat, the full picture of what it was came into focus. Yakka claims that he saw a 14 or 16 foot tall Bigfoot slowly marching through the forest with one of his gigantic hands on fire. The flame as well yellow from a distance, but as it went past, Yakka could see it was a blue flame – like a sterno can.

Yakka is at a loss to explain what he saw, but he was still searching for a clear answer to what might have been going on with that creature he saw!

Will Trotoske claims to have seen a large hairy bipedal apelike man walking around the Kistachie Forest. The creature carried with it a long branch with it had wound some vines around in a net like fashion. Trotoske followed the breast for several minutes until they came to a clearing.

The beast started to unwind the vines from the branch and it was in fact a net. Trotoske could not believe his eyes as he watched the Bigfoot jump through the clearing attempting to snag butterflies in its crude net.

Scared of discovery, Trotoske did not stay too long. He left before the Bigfoot caught any butterflies or noticed him crouching behind a tree.

While camping in Sabine Forest, Todd Clifford and his brother Louie were sitting around smoking cigars and star gazing and drinking some beers. Suddenly, racing out of the darkness from behind them came a growling and snarling Bigfoot.

“We smelled it before it got there, like the bottom of a leaf pile or maybe a bunch of dead snails,” Louie recalled.

“Yep. All I saw was my feet. Damned thing pushed me over,” Todd claims.

“I got up and ran. I figured it was nice knowing my brother…” Louie laughs.

“He ain’t joking with you. I found out who my friends were that night and it weren’t him,” Todd points at his laughing brother.

The brothers assert that the Bigfoot stamped out the campfire with its gigantic feet, then padded off into the woods again.

“Don’t know what about that particular fire upset it, but it sure did put it out.”

“I am just glad it didn’t piss on it,” Todd laughs.
